Farm Boxes
What is a Farm Box?
Our farm boxes run similar to a CSA. CSA stands for Community Supported Agricultural. CSA programs have been around for centuries to help pay upfront farming costs such as buying seeds and labor before harvest. Originally, CSAs were set up to provide customers with a share of the crop. This means that if the crop was large the customers would receive huge amounts of fruit, if the crop was lost customers received nothing. Today CSAs typically guarantee that you will receive produce throughout the season- like our farm box program.
Why join our Farm Box?
Customers have the convenience of farmer’s pick boxes delivered to their local area. This is great for those who can’t make it to the Saturday markets or those who would like to try something new. In addition, customers who join the Farm Box Program may have access to fruits and vegetables that do not travel to the local farmer’s market. Farm Boxes also help the farmer. Prior to harvest, farmers incur all the growing costs but have little to no income. A Farm Box Program allows the farmer to collect money early to help cover those costs.

Payment Options
We have options to pay up front for the whole season (cheapest option) or weekly. Weekly payments will be reoccuring but can be paused or stopped at any time in your account.
Empty Boxes
We do ask that you make an effort to bring back your boxes each week. They are expensive and we love to reuse them.
Dealing with missed weeks
We do understand that people may miss weeks throughout the season. We recommend that you have a friend or family member pick up your box. They are sure to enjoy the fruit as much as you would have! If this is not possible, you can pick up your box at the Saturday market or choose to have 2 boxes the next week. You must let us know 24 hours in advance if you need us to delay your box. If you do not give us sufficient time or you do not pick up your box, it will be donated to a local business owner.
What if there are allergies in my family?
Please let us know if you or your family is allergic to a fruit or vegetable and we will make sure not to include it in your box. Allergies are the only reason that we will exclude fruit from your box.
What if the farm is wiped out?
While we do everything we can to avoid such a scenario, we can't control everything and disasters do happen. If we collect money and at a later date feel that we cannot provide our customers the promised fruit, we will refund the money for all undelivered fruit.
Refunds
Refunds will only happen at the discretion of Tonnemaker Hill Farm and only if we feel that we cannot provide the promised fruit. We strive to include an outstanding selection of delicious fruit which may include fruit you are not used to. We ask you to have an open mind and remember many fruits will be included only once during the season. Please contact us with concerns about fruit quality.
Tips
We do recommend that you have some fridge space for the fruit to help preserve it. We ask that you do not pick up your box and let it sit in your car for any length of time un-air-conditioned. Most of the fruit being sent to you is picked ripe off the tree and cannot handle high temperatures for extended periods of time, it will spoil. We cannot be responsible for what happens to the fruit after it leaves our possession.
